First published in 2025 and an immediate best-seller, this new edition of Railway Route Atlas: A Tracker’s Guide has been fully revised to reflect the changes that have occurred to the railway network over the past couple of years and is re-illustrated with a range of images that portray historic and closed stations.
 
The atlas details every railway line – surviving or not – ever built in the UK and, with its handy saddle-stitched binding, allows users to memorialise their own journeys as a permanent record.
 
Some years ago one of the great railway photographers commented that, during his long career, he had managed to travel over every stretch of passenger railway that had existed in his lifetime. He believed that he had travelled each line through the length and breadth of the realm and could have demonstrated the fact through his photographic record of these journeys … but most enthusiasts, however, do not have such a comprehensive – and visual – archive of material to draw upon. For these, there has been a tradition of highlighting in railway atlases those lines over which a journey has been made.
 
Providing comprehensive coverage of the entire historic railway network of Great Britain, Railway Route Atlas: A Tracker’s Guide is designed to permit the enthusiast to highlight those lines travelled over to produce a record of journeys.
